How to make a Saddle in Minecraft.

A saddle for your horse in one of the most popular items in Minecraft. But most players do not know that you cannot actually craft the item on the crafting table or in the furnace. This was possible in earlier versions of Minecraft, but now you must find the saddle.

Where can I get a saddle in Minecraft?

A saddle must be found out in the world, and it can typically be found in Chests in Dungeons or in Nether Fortresses in Survival Mode.

In Creative Mode:

Java Edition: You can find the Saddle in the Creative Inventory Menu under Transportation.

Xbox One/PS4/Win10/Nintendo/Edu: Equipment

Pocket Edition: Under Tools/Equipment

In Survival Mode:

You can find a Saddle in Minecraft, in the following ways, while playing in Survival Modes:

1) Look in a Chest in the Dungeon. As a player you can find and add a saddle by looking in chests while you explore a dungeon. The underground dungeons are typically where you can find chests with saddles in them. Dungeons are small room with a monster spawn point in the middle.

2) Look in a Chest in the Nether Fortress. You must build a Nether portal to be transported to the Nether Fortress.  There are usually many chests in the fortress, and each chest contains different things, so keep looking until you find a saddle.

3) Look in abandoned mine shafts, desert temples, jungle temples and blacksmith chests.

4) By Fishing. Alternatively, you can find a saddle by fishing. These are a rare catch, but if you find a string and a fishing hole, then this is quite an easy way to get a saddle.

5) The Leatherworker villager will trade you a saddle.

How to put saddle on a horse in Minecraft.

How do I put a Saddle on a horse in Minecraft?

You must first tame a horse in Minecraft, before you can put a saddle on it and ride the horse. The saddle will enable you to control the movements of the horse.

To put a saddle on a horse, first select the saddle in your hotbar. Depending on your version of Minecraft, this is how you put the saddle on your horse:

• Java Edition (PC/Mac): Right click on the horse to mount it. Press E for inventory.
• Pocket Edition (PE): Move your pointer over the horse and press the Mount button. Tap on the button with 3 dots to open your inventory. Tap on the button with the picture of a saddle.
• Xbox 360 and Xbox One: Press the LT button on the controller to mount the horse. Press the Y button to open your inventory.
• PS3 and PS4: Press the L2 button on the PS controller to mount the horse. Press the Triangle button to open your inventory.
• Wii U: Press the ZL button to mount the horse. Press the X button to open your inventory.
• Nintendo Switch: Press the ZL button on the controller to mount the horse. Press the X button to open your inventory.
• For Windows 10 Edition: Right click on the horse to mount it. Press E for inventory.
• For Education Edition: Right click on the horse to mount it. Press E for inventory.

A window will open that shows the items that your horse is wearing.

Move the saddle from the hotbar to the saddle outline, which is shown on the left side of the horse picture. When you return to the game, your horse will be wearing the saddle.

How to Mount a Horse in Minecraft.

The game control to mount a horse depends on your version of Minecraft:

• Java Edition (PC/Mac): Right click on the horse.
• Pocket Edition (PE): Move your pointer over the horse and press the Mount button.
• Xbox 360 and Xbox One: Press the LT button on the Xbox controller to mount and ride a horse.
• PS3 and PS4: Press the L2 button on the PS controller to mount and ride a horse.
• Wii U: Press the ZL button on the gamepad to mount and ride a horse.
• Nintendo Switch:Press the ZL button on the controller to mount and ride a horse.
• Windows 10 Edition: Right click on the horse to mount and ride a horse.
• Education Edition: right click on the horse to mount and ride a horse.

You can ride now ride the horse and control its movements.

You can also put Horse Armor on Horses (but not Donkey’s or Mules). Horse armor also can only be found,  and not crafted.

You can put a chest on a Donkey or Mule to have it hold supplies for you. But you cannot equip a horse with a chest.
